ROSEN Europe sponsored Gerrit Jan Soetman during a 2010 cycle tour through South America. Gerrit Jan, who is from the city of Enschede in The Netherlands, started his cycle challenge in Lima, Peru on 7 September. He cycled through Bolivia, Chili and Argentina, ending his travels in Brazil.

ROSEN Europe organized events for its clients in each of the countries that Gerrit Jan cycled through. These were in the form of a dinner to update clients on ROSEN’s latest technological developments, but also, to raise funds for local charities providing for the education and welfare of under privileged children.

Gerrit Jan finished his momentous cycling trip on Tuesday 7 December in Rio de Janeiro, covering a total distance of 13,000 km within 90 days! The successful ROSEN South America Charity and Cycling event ended officially the following day at the last of 5 charity dinners.

This is not the first time that Gerrit Jan has taken on such a challenge: In 1995 he completed a solo cycle tour around the world, covering a total of 20,000 km. Starting in Enschede, he cycled his way through Europe, Asia and across the United States, ending his journey in New York.
